About me

Hi! I am Sonia, I am 26 years old and live in the province of Bari. I graduated with honours in Specialist Translation at UNIBA, with a thesis on translations of medicine into Spanish. I studied Spanish and English, in which I obtained a DELE C2 and a Cambridge C1 respectively. I have also studied German, Catalan and Portuguese. In love with Spain since 2010, I did two Erasmus trips to Andalusia (Granada and Seville), and taught Italian for a year at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas in Malaga (also in Andalusia heheheh). I currently carry out Civil Service in a day centre for disabled people in my city. I am a curious girl, I like travelling and getting in touch with different cultures, since 2018 I am in fact part of the international association Esn, which helps Erasmus students to approach their new exciting experience of studying abroad. I am a determined and precise girl, I like teaching and involving students in lessons, with interactive activities and exercises, in order to stimulate proactive learning and help the student (and myself) to improve day by day. I want students to understand that I am here for them and they can count on me for any questions or concerns. One of my hobbies is reading; I am a big fan of literature, especially English literature. Icing on the cake, I really enjoy baking, Bake Off on Friday nights is a must! :D
