Hi! I'm a student, 17 years old, my name is Valentino. I've been having classes in english with Nicholas for many months. During these months we've done many different activities, going from simple chatting, to grammar exercisesand story reading, to preparing for my First exam (B2) and then back to chatting, but also in spanish. I want to talk for a moment about each of these things.
First of all, the chatting, as simple as it is, I believe was handled really well. I'm a pretty shy person, especially at first. I rember being always worried about what we would talk about, like there were right and wrong topics. Then I realised the most impostant thing wasn't the topic, but chatting freely. That wasn't simple, but thanks to the interesting and funny videos Nicholas brought each time, I got used to the new pace and started sharing more about myself, making each meeting easier. I'm sure this is fundamental: having faith in the possibility to share what you think, without judgment. That is the starting point, the most impostant, Nicholas helped a lot with that.
Talking about the grammar exercises, I may not be the best judge, but still I think they were well picked. Also Nicholas always shared everything I could need to better understand what we were exercising. He helped me review many different rules, often giving me a better view of the uses of those rules. Nicolas also gave me little stories to read, which I enjoyed, because they were also an opportunity to discuss during class.
Finishing with my preparation for the First Exam, I want to speak about how clearly experienced Nicholas is with this kind of preparation. He always provided me various sources from which I understood really well the structure of the exam. He even gave me useful tips to give a better impression at the oral exam, which seemed to work. With his help I gained a lot of confidence in my abilities. He supported me just by accompanying me fully through each step.
What I want to say is that Nicholas proved himself to be a fully prepared teacher. Sometimes I wasn't too sure of the pace, maybe feeling a bit slow, but in the end I was always preapared for everything. I built both skills and confidence during these months and I'm thankful for that. It's an expierience I would definetly recommend, I will surely continue it too, even just simply to chat now and then.
