Hi everyone! My name is Karen. I come from Glasgow, United Kingdom. I hold an MA degree in languages from the University of Glasgow and a PGDE (Postgraduate Diploma in Education) from the University of Strathclyde. I lived and worked in Bogotá, Colombia, for five years, teaching English in universities and private companies. I even started my own online English school during the pandemic. I returned to Glasgow, UK, in 2022 to undertake my PDGE to teach Spanish and French in Scotland, where I have now been working for the past three years. Therefore, I have extensive experience teaching languages in various settings and across a range of age groups. As an experienced teacher, I have learned how to plan lessons that meet the needs of each student. Every class with me is different, considering that students have various reasons for improving their English level and different end goals. For example, my methodology begins by speaking with the student to understand their needs, the reasons behind their English learning, and their goals. From there, I can start planning the structure of the class, which will be tailored to each individual student. My classes are interactive, with an emphasis on conversation, even when the focus is on grammar. I offer a free trial class so that we can get to know each other first, and I can answer any questions or doubts you may have. See you soon!
