I consider myself a passionate, creative, dynamic, and organized person; all of which I try to reflect in my classes! I believe that one of my talents is patience and the ability to understand the individual needs that each student may have in their instrumental learning process.
I initially use the Suzuki method, but I also have experience with various other methods and advanced instrumental techniques. If you wish to learn a specific song or melody, I am very open to adapting it to your personalized learning needs.
My teaching is adapted to children from 4-5 years old to young people and adults at more advanced levels.
Since I was very young, music and performing arts were always present in my home. I began my violin studies at the age of 9 through the Suzuki method. At 18, I decided to pursue my higher education in performance in my hometown Barranquilla, Colombia. During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to participate in several national and international festivals.
After completing my studies, I was offered a position at the Altamira International School, a prestigious private school in the city, where I discovered my passion for teaching children and young people and creating cultural educational projects. From July 2021 to September 2024, I served as a teacher and coordinator of the music program at this institution. There, I taught violin, viola, and music theory; I was the artistic director of the children's orchestra and chamber music groups; I worked on the pre-production and production of musical events (didactic concerts, awareness workshops) and festivals; I designed the institution's cultural programming, and lastly, I spearheaded the creation of the weekend music school.
I have decided to come to Spain to grow professionally in the field of cultural management, as, in addition to my passion for teaching, I want to provide more children and young people with access to music education. I am also tirelessly continuing my growth as a pedagogue and instrumentalist (a never-ending task) to offer my students the best of myself."
