Phelokazi

Hello there! I am Phelokazi Dastile your native English teacher, nice to meet you. I am a dual graduate of Honours in Counselling Psychology from the University of South Africa and a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences from Rhodes University. I have a 4 years experience of teaching English and other Social Sciences subjects such as Sociology both in formal and formal settings. I have spent a significant period teaching student in contact and that is where i learned the importance of coordinating my counselling skills into teaching- learners need encouragement to believe in themselves and this requires a teacher to see a student as an individual. Teaching is personal to me that is why I spend the extra time I have to tutor students voluntarily so.My classes are organised in a semi-formal structure and use blended methodology as an approach to teaching. This means that student are active participant and not mere absorbers of information. They are allowed to ask and have a contribution in class. This method help students to build their self-esteem and confidence which is versatile to the outside world as well. So what do you say? Will I see you in class?
