Hi! My name is Umar Ali and I am almost done with my degree in Computer Science from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). You must be asking yourself by now: what does a computer geek have to do with teaching English? Well, this computer geek has been teaching students since 2018. I started off small by volunteering to teach underprivileged kids at state schools but eventually I started teaching home tuitions to people of wealthier backgrounds. Recently, I have also been hired by the Native Camp, a Japan-based online teaching platform, as an English teacher. English has been my favourite subject ever since I was a little kid. I love playing with words and expressing the deepest of my feelings in a written form. In my online classes, I would like to inspire you to do the same as well. I scored a band 8.0 in my IELTS exam and I have also secured an A* grade in the Cambridge O level subject English (as a first language). Hence, it would be my pleasure to be able to help you prepare for these exams. As far as my teaching style is concerned, everything that I teach you will be centred around you. And by you, I mean the level that you currently stand at and the specific areas of English that you are interested in improving on. That being said, I like to lay emphasis on three particular things to improve your expertise in the language: 1) Speaking English fluently 2) Reading books and comprehending the texts 3) Creative Writing I would be extremely delighted to help you achieve your goals in terms of the English language.
