Hello! My name is Lotavha, but you can call me Lotty. I’m a native English speaker from South Africa, born and raised here and I currently live in Johannesburg. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a 120-hour TEFL certificate. I’ve been teaching English online for almost two years now, mostly to adult learners, and I absolutely love it! Teaching gives me the chance to meet people from all over the world and engage in interesting, meaningful conversations. I also have nearly three years of experience working in the corporate sector, first as a Risk and Compliance intern, then as an Underwriter. This allows me to support students not only with conversational English, but also with Business English for workplace communication, presentations, and more. My teaching philosophy is simple: fluency over accuracy. I believe it’s more important to try speaking, even if you make mistakes, than to stay quiet out of fear. Mistakes are a natural and essential part of learning. I create a supportive space where you can speak freely, grow your confidence, and improve naturally through real conversation. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching anime, and creating anime-inspired crochet pieces, it’s my creative escape and a fun way to connect with others who share the same interests.
