CELTA-Trained English Tutor Helping Adult Learners improve speaking and Confidence

Hello! I’m Karen, a native English speaker and CELTA-trained English tutor. I’m also completing my B.A. in English at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I have experience teaching adult English learners from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, and I especially enjoy helping students become more comfortable and confident when speaking English. My classes are friendly, supportive, and centered around you. I like to learn about your goals, interests, and the areas of English you would most like to improve, then plan lessons that give you plenty of opportunities to actually use the language. We can work on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, or everyday English depending on your needs. I know that speaking another language can feel intimidating, so you never have to worry about making mistakes in my classes! Mistakes are part of learning, and I’ll give you helpful feedback while encouraging you to keep communicating. My goal is for you to leave each lesson feeling a little more confident in your English than when you started. I’d love to meet you and help you reach your English goals! 😊
