Jennifer

Hello! My name is Jennifer, I am a 21-year-old South African with a passion for teaching! I can speak two languages fluently: Afrikaans and English. I have my TEFL qualification, and I am currently studying for my bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology. I love books, my favourite genres are romance, fantasy and suspense or thrillers. I also love movies and nature. I also enjoy writing and learning new things I can use to help others. I have 2 years tutoring experience in English, Afrikaans as well as Science and Accounting where I have helped many adults and children understand hard topics. Along with this I got my 150-hour TEFL qualification this year to further my passion for teaching! I use the Task-based method or the Communicative teaching method during my lessons, which means that I look at a student’s needs to determine which approach will work with them and I know that this way the students will get what they need out of a lesson and know the way forward and how they will reach their goal. It’s important to me that my students see English as fun and stay motivated to learn and grow in an achievable way. I love teaching all ages and can help from Beginner level (A0) up to Advanced level (C2). I have helped many students improve their vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, General English and Business English. I can also help with interview and exam preparation. I understand that learning a new language feels strange and sometimes scary. I have been there before and I will be there every step of the way to help where I can.
