About me

Native British English speaker with many years experience! Let's have fun!

*Native British English speaker* *CELTA qualified* Hi, I’m James, a CELTA-qualified English teacher from Cambridge, UK, with a clear, neutral British accent. I offer conversational English lessons for learners at intermediate (B1) level and above who want to improve their fluency, confidence, and ability to express themselves naturally. As someone who’s also learning languages, I take online Spanish lessons and speak at an intermediate level, I completely understand the challenges. In my experience, the best way to learn a language is simple: speak it regularly in a relaxed, supportive environment. My lessons are friendly, flexible, and built around real conversation. We can talk about topics that genuinely interest you, from travel, food, history and psychology to football or the latest Netflix series. Whatever you're passionate about, we’ll use it to build your English skills. Above all, I want you to feel confident and enjoy speaking English. Life’s short, so let’s make learning engaging, practical, and fun!

★★★★★
James is a very helpful teacher who listens to the student's needs and adapts to them flexibly. Lessons with him are relaxed, without the stiffness that can sometimes come with a formal teacher-student relationship. Thanks to him, I'm improving a lot in understanding spoken English, which was my 'weak spot,' and he's helping me reach my goal of understanding native speakers.
