Hi there! I am Isobel, a TEFL certified teacher from London with extensive experience teaching English to Spanish speakers. My methods aim to build confidence and fluency in English, and are based on the communicative approach. Most of all, I want English to something my students enjoy learning! To this end, my design my classes to be fun, including authentic materials in line with my students interests, whether that be art, politics, sports or cooking. In my experience, each student comes with specific needs, and that's why I endeavour to create a tailored programme. We will work on all four language skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing, as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, through activities that are relevant to your needs and goals. Do you need to use English to write emails at work? Then we will practise drafting and rewriting emails. Do you want to speak up more in English during meetings? Then we will focus on “role-playing” these scenarios. Are you about to take an Academic course where you will need to write essays in English? No problem! We will focus on reading and writing in an Academic context. Or perhaps your parents in law native English speakers? Great! Then ee will work on general conversation. To this end I currently offer four types of English class depending on my students needs: General English, Business English, Exam preparation and Academic English. My own experience learning Spanish and Romanian has taught the difficulty, but also the incredibly rewarding nature of language learning. So let me help you to make it easier!
