Hey and welcome,
I'm Inés, a lover of traveling, eating, and discovering the world and it's people. I think languages can be a portal or a tool to better these experiences or at least in my experience, they certainly have been. I'd love to help others improve their English, to better their own experiences across the world. I also believe that besides helping us understand each other more, they also help us connect, and form bonds - something I find super special, and quite important nowadays.
The method that I usually use is quite conversation-focused, so that my students can improve their English level in a natural way and integrate it in their day-to-day lives. Learning to use slang and sayings in a colloquial way, just like a natives from England or North America would. In my lessons or learning material I love using pop culture, history, books, series and movies as well as games as references for picking up the language.
I'd love to adapt my methodology based on what the student wants, I'm quite flexible in that sense.
My teaching experience goes back to when I was 16 years old at school living in China and i started helping migrant children (aged 7) with their English homework after school. Migrant children of rural China have different rights to education and their parents usually work long hours in construction. They end their shifts late so the NGO was a place where the kids could play and learn after school until their parents were able to come and pick them up. This way, their homework would be done by the time their parents arrived.
In Madrid, I gave learning support to children preparing for their Cambirdge exams. These children were aged 8-12 years old. They would have their own material from school such as text books or practice tests, and in addition to those I would create games or exercises for them to give them even more confidence. I used a similar process when teaching adults, too.
Do you want to be and sound more confident when you speak English? Don't hesitate in shooting me a message and tell me what areas you would like to improve. If it's for a specific exam or just to use for travel and making international friends, or to even just watch and understand a film fully in English! I'd love to help you get your level of English where you want it!
