About me

CELTA certified tutor with experience teaching IELTS and Cambridge English material.

Hello! My name´s Fergus and I´m a CELTA certified teacher with years of experience teaching both online & in person. I have prepared students for several exam boards, including the IELTS and Cambridge tests, whilst I have also helped others progress in the workplace. I´m 27 years old and from Oxford although I´m an avid traveler and love South America especially. I have been teaching since 2017. I started teaching English voluntarily to groups of refugees in Glasgow and have since taught hundreds of students, both online & in person throughout the world. During the pandemic I decided to complete a CELTA course and dedicate myself to teaching professionally. Whilst I have worked with several academies I now prefer to teach independently. I like to use a variety of games, media resources and role plays to help people develop people´s conversation skills, with online worksheets as a supplementary resource to help strengthen their grammar skills. Furthermore, I have access to a number of IELTS resources to help students prepare with official sample material provided by the exam board.
