Hi everyone! My name is Claudia and I am a PhD researcher and a FL teacher based in Barcelona, Spain.
I have more than 5 years of experience teaching English, French, and Italian around Europe. I lived in France, Italy, Spain, and Belgium and taught to a variety of students profiles, such as teenagers, company employees, university students, expats, and amateurs.
In my everyday life at work, I deal with linguistic diversity and cognitive linguistics. In other words, my life goal is to spread the importance of learning languages in order to experience others' culture! For this reason I always include cultural contents in my classes and use them to practice linguistic structures and to develop my students' oral and written skills.
My approach is mainly communicative, however as a specialist of language and thought process, I will be able to explain to you even the most difficult concepts through simple and logic explanations and tricks.
During our first class we will discuss your needs, your interests, and your expectation. This class is fundamental to establish a personalized program. I guarantee a personalized program for all my students. Do you need to deep in the language because you are moving abroad, or your boss asked you to improve your linguistic competences? You want to improve your comprehension or production? Do you have to write a paper and need assistance or proof-reading? Just let me know what you need!
Last but not least, I would like to talk you about the fear of doing mistakes. Learning a language must never be associated with fear or shame, as these feelings are the first enemies of learning. It is fundamental for me to assure you that my classes are a safe network where you are allowed (and invited!) to fail, because failing is the best way to spot your weakness and to solve them and to get rid of fear. So come fail with me!
