About me

Language teacher with 10 years of experience teaches Spanish at all levels.

Hi! My name is Andrea, and I just returned to Murcia after living in the USA for 8 years, where I worked as a Spanish instructor and studied at two different universities: West Virginia University (WVU) and University of Pittsburgh (Pitt). Apart from teaching Spanish, I completed a PhD in HIspanic Linguistics. Before I came to the USA, I worked at a school and an English academy during the academic school year of 2016-2017, in which I also prepared for Cambridge and Trinity exams. Besides, I also worked for three consecutive summers (2015, 2016, and 2017) at English summer camps. I love teaching languages, although I can also help with other subjects. I firmly believe that, to learn a language (or any other subject), enjoying the process is key. This is why I tend to use different methodologies to help in the learning. One of those is the use of music and videos, since they are part of our lives. I also use classbooks in order to achieve the required level for the class, if that is the case. I'm always open to use other methodologies to keep the motivation of the learner. I also focus on all the language skills and try to balance their learning and acquisition.
