Bilingual Tutor for Spanish - 5 Years of Tutoring Experience - Adults and Children

Hi! I'm Allison and I currently live in Canada. I have previously lived in the States and Mexico. I enjoy cooking (and eating!), reading and watching movies, which are subjects we can discuss at large to practice conversational English or Spanish. Always happy to help with technical English or Spanish as well. I have been tutoring since 2009, by helping my classmates pass their Second Language Test in college (UNAM). After working in the field of petroleum engineering I decided my passion was to help people gain confidence in their skills. With more than ten years of experience overall and native proficiency in both languages, I have honed my skills in creating dynamic and engaging lessons tailored to individual needs. I understand that each learner has unique goals and learning styles, and I am committed to designing personalized lesson plans to maximize your progress. My lessons look like this: - Introduction and Initial Assessment: I introduce myself and ask you for your name and what you like to be called. I ask you about your goals, timeframes, and learning style and we fill out a document that will be our point of reference moving forward. I conduct a preliminary evaluation of your skills with some questions. - Introduction of New Material; Practice and Application; Real-Life Context and Cultural Integration. - Wrap-up and Reflection: You get a copy of the document we filled out in class, a copy of my curriculum (for new learners), and an infographic (for child/teenage learners) as well as ample time to discuss any doubts or questions you might have. Additionally, I tailor my lessons to every student and always come with material prepared for our following lessons. I am committed to being flexible, adaptable, and responsive to your individual needs, fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment.
