Native English speaker, specializing in interview techniques & conversational English
English can be a tough language to learn , I hear that a lot. I'm here to make it easy and fun.
I have taught students from all around the world, from beginners upwards. I really enjoy seeing my students grow in confidence as they learn.
If I sound like I could be a fit for you, drop me an email and we can take it from there.
Below is an article from my job interview tips blog and gives you an idea of how I can work with you for job interviews.
Preparing for a job interview can be daunting. What will I wear ? which questions will I be asked? How formal should I be? These are some of the main questions my students have on their minds before the big day.
While I can not offer advice on any fashion choices you make, I can advise on how to speak in this formal setting.
You will almost certainly be asked to ' tell us about yourself' This question can also be phrased as ' walk me through your resume' or 'I'd love to hear more about your journey' It is posed in order to gain a deeper understanding of your experience and suitability for the role.
Take your time! Structure your answer in a way that makes sense. Stick to the past-present-future format, and you will nail it!
*Present-Talk a little bit about what your current role is, its scope, and perhaps a recent accomplishment.
*Past- Tell the interviewer how you got there, and also mention previous experience that’s relevant to the job and company you’re applying for.
*Future: Segue into what you’re looking to do next, why you’re interested in this job and why you feel you are a great fit for the role.
Keep it relevant and brief (1-2 minutes max). It is not the time to reveal your whole life story.
Mention any of your top achievements and relevant work experiences you may have, and try not to repeat yourself.
Preparation and practice are key for successful job interviews. One of my favourite phrases which is highly applicable here is 'failure to plan, is planning a failure'
