Hello, my name is Vanessa! I love teaching and learning languages, and sharing my knowledge and experience with my students. I have a degree in intercultural mediation and a master's degree in translation and interpretation. My teaching method is based on personalization and adaptation to the needs, interests and objectives of each student. I believe that each person has a different learning style, and that is why I design my classes according to the preferences and expectations of each one. I use varied and authentic materials, such as texts, audios, videos, games, songs, to make the classes dynamic, fun and motivating.
My goal is for my students to develop the four language skills (listening comprehension, written comprehension, oral expression and written expression) in a balanced and effective way. To do this, I offer them constant and constructive feedback, and I encourage them to practice the language both inside and outside of class. I also help them improve their pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and fluency, as well as their confidence and autonomy.
I believe that knowing the sociocultural reality of a language is essential to better understand it and communicate successfully. For this reason, in my classes I talk about current, relevant and interesting topics for my students, and I invite them to participate in intercultural debates, activities and projects.
I like to create a relaxed and positive atmosphere in class, where my students feel comfortable and supported. I like to get to know my students as people, not just as students, and establish a relationship of trust and mutual respect. I like to listen to their opinions, suggestions and doubts, and resolve them clearly and honestly. I like to celebrate their accomplishments, recognize their efforts, and encourage them to keep going.
What makes me different from other teachers? Well, I think my passion for languages, my professional and personal experience, my flexibility and my creativity.
