About me

Hello and welcome! I am an English teacher with a background in applied linguistics, Chinese language, and language learning. Having studied Chinese and learned several languages myself, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and the importance of finding a learning method that works for you. I believe that learning English is not just about grammar and vocabulary; it is also about understanding cultures, exploring new perspectives, and enjoying the learning process. I am particularly interested in cultural learning and free voluntary reading, and I believe that reading materials you genuinely enjoy can help you expand your vocabulary, improve your reading comprehension, and develop a more natural understanding of English. I have an IELTS Academic score of 7.5, with 8.0 in reading and listening, 7.5 in speaking, and 6.5 in writing. I also have a TOEFL iBT score of 5.5 on the new 1–6 scale, with 5.0 in reading and writing, 5.5 in speaking, and 6.0 in listening. As a language teacher, I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their confidence. I can also draw on my knowledge of Chinese and Persian to help learners understand difficult English concepts when appropriate. Whether your goal is to improve your everyday communication, develop your reading skills, explore English through culture and literature, or prepare for an English proficiency test, I would be happy to help you along the way.
