My name is Rosa Alcaraz, a Foreign Language teacher (Spanish). I have a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Granada. I have spent two years in different universities (Universität zu Köln, Germany and Complutense University of Madrid) through which I have been able to deepen my knowledge of how to teach a foreign language. I started teaching Spanish in 2016, during my stay in Germany. I have taught classes to students of many different levels, teaching through Spanish even when it is an entry level class. However, at times, I have used English for some explanations. Nevertheless, in my opinion the best way to acquire a second language (in this case Spanish) is to have it taught in the language that you want to learn. As a teacher, I always try to follow the line of the Instituto Cervantes since it is the reference body for the teaching of Spanish. I have also had students who just needed someone to talk to and thus increase their fluency and correct certain aspects of the spoken language. To do this, I use conversational techniques such as the reading and discussing of different current articles in Spanish. With the aim of increasing the students vocabulary and oral fluency. For me, it is a priority that my students feel confident when it comes to putting into practice their learning of the Spanish language.
