Experienced Maths Tutor with 10+ Years Helping KS3, GCSE and A-Level Students Succeed
Hello! I’m Omar, an experienced Maths tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience. I teach KS3, GCSE Foundation and Higher, AS Level, A-Level, Further Maths and IB Mathematics, covering the major UK exam boards including Edexcel, AQA, OCR A, OCR MEI, WJEC, Eduqas, CCEA and Cambridge International.
My lessons are friendly, structured and completely tailored to the individual student. I take time to understand their current level, learning style and goals before creating a clear plan to help them improve. Whether a student is struggling to catch up, aiming to move up several grades or working towards a top grade, I adjust the pace and level of support to suit them.
During lessons, I explain concepts clearly using step-by-step examples and an interactive online whiteboard. I encourage students to attempt questions independently before I provide guidance, as this helps build confidence, mathematical reasoning and long-term understanding. I do not simply give answers; I use prompts and targeted questions to help students discover the correct method themselves.
For exam preparation, I use past papers, topic-based worksheets and carefully selected exam-style questions. We focus on exam technique, timing, calculator skills, showing full working and avoiding common errors that can lead to lost marks. I also help students understand what examiners are looking for and how to structure answers to maximise marks.
Homework can be provided after each lesson and reviewed at the beginning of the next session. This allows us to correct mistakes, identify any remaining gaps and keep progress consistent.
I am patient, approachable and supportive, and I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is for every student to finish each lesson feeling more confident, better prepared and clear about what they need to do next.
