Odlanier

My name is Odlanier and I am a Cuban dance teacher. I am a graduate of the University of the Arts of Cuba, the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA). I have been teaching English for several years. I also speak some German, but my English is much better. I am 44 years old. I have taught English in municipal language schools in Cuba. The method we use is purely Cuban, of course. With this method you will have the opportunity to get to know a little bit of Cuban history and culture. In these schools we use the latest method approved by the Cuban Ministry of Education (MINED); this method is called English Light and consists of 4 books. As everyone knows or has heard; Cuba is a great power in public education. There is no private education, since everyone has the right to study and it is totally free. I have worked with North Americans in the tourism industry and mainly with Germans, as well as Dutch, Austrians, etc. With all of them we spoke mainly in English, German and Spanish. The classes or the way of teaching is pleasant and participative. There is no lack of communication between teacher and students. We teach the language in a personalized way and also in groups. Classes can be intensive (concentrated) or traditional. The intensive way can be twice a day from Monday to Friday (1 hour and 30 minutes, morning and afternoon); the intensive course should last 3 months. And the traditional way (not intensive) as it is done in Cuba would be 4 times a week, from Monday to Thursday for an hour and a half each day; this type of course can last 2 years or less depending on the learning capacity of the student.
