Hello! I’m Nadia and I am a First Class Honours BMus(Hons) Music Performance and Recording graduate at the London College of Music (University of West London). I have been helping students of all ages learn, improve and develop their musical skills and love for music for over 8 years. I offer online guitar, piano and singing lessons and mainly specialise in pop and rock music, although I also work on preparation for ABRSM piano exams up to Grade 4. I have grade 8 Popular Music Theory and I am able to teach in English and Spanish (native in both). I have a full enhanced DBS check.
Some info about my lessons and teaching method…
My approach to teaching is the love of music. I want students to engage with their instrument and enjoy what they are doing whilst developing their skills and knowledge. I like to tailor my lessons to the individual and their desired outcome. I am encouraging and motivating and I want everyone to have fun! I have experience in preparing students for ABRSM and LCM exams as well as playing for fun, and adults wanting to start an instrument from scratch.
Although I do not have any certifications to work with special needs students, I have experience teaching (online) students with autism, ADHD and learning disabilities. I am outgoing, friendly and approachable and adapt to the student's needs. I am extremely enthusiastic and passionate about music and I encourage students to progress and explore their musical abilities and love for the subject.
A little bit about myself…
I have been playing the piano, guitar, singing and writing my own songs since age 13, and have been recording and performing my own material live ever since. I have toured all around Europe, both acoustically and with my band including a support tour with Welsh band Stereophonics, and festivals like Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, FIB (Benicassim Festival), Kendal Calling, Y Not, and on national Spanish TV…My music has had support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, BBCR2, BBC Introducing London, Planet Rock, Radio X and Radio 3 (Spain).
When I was 14 I won the public prize at Mad Sound Project, a contest organised by EMI Spain, which gave me the opportunity to record some of my own material with Grammy Award-winning producer Nigel Walker (Paul McCartney, Elton John...). In 2012 I was awarded a scholarship to attend Stanford Jazz Summer Workshop for vocalists at Stanford University (San Francisco) and in 2013 I attended two Summer courses at ICMP (London) on performance and songwriting.
