Hello everyone! Welcome to my profile. My name is Matheus and I'm a 23-year-old Portuguese and Spanish teacher from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and I'm deeply passionate about foreign languages and cultures. That's what led me to study International Relations and learn 4 foreign languages. I've been teaching languages for 1 year and a half now, and I've always helped my friends who don't have Portuguese as their native language to learn it. I've already lived abroad, in Spain, and I'm always making new international friends. I know how difficult and tricky learning a new language can be, but I'm eager to help you along this journey. My lessons will adapt to your level in Portuguese or in Spanish, and the reasons why you chose to learn this new language. I think that expressing yourself properly and being understood by others is the most crucial part when you learn a language, and that's why I focus on conversation and communication, teaching idiomatic expressions and pronunciation. My classes are usually about a specific topic, like news, lifestyle, culture and History. Besides, I use textbooks, and also videos, flashcards, music and other ways to put you in touch with the language I'm teaching. However, if you need a more formal approach, I can also help you with academic and professional language, focusing on formal expressions and words, e-mail and academic writing, and grammar.
