I'm a Chinese-Japanese-Dominican, fluent in three languages- Chinese Mandarin, Spanish, and English. I have lived in more than 8 countries and have more than 10 years of tutoring experience in different subjects. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Biology, Health Science and a Master's degree in Alternative Oriental Medicine.

I have taught Language Arts/Literature and Social Studies/World History for 6th-10th grades, in Saint Joseph School, an American School in Dominican Republic as well as having done student teaching as part of the Honors program in BYUH, teaching a freshman course. I have also worked at the Provo School District, in Utah, as Paraeducator, Student Advocate, After School and Summer School Instructor. Besides that, I have more than 10 years of tutoring experience, tutoring in different classes (Biology, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Languages, Art, History, and more).

Having parents that place a great emphasis in achieving higher education, I graduated from high school at the age of 15 years old and was accepted in National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, for a degree in Life Science Biology. While studying in Taiwan, I offered individual tutoring for Spanish and English for college students and adults who wanted to improve their knowledge on the language.

After two years of studying in Taiwan, I decided to expand my horizons in education and applied for Brigham Young University Hawaii for the major of Psychology. During the time I spent studying in Brigham Young University Hawaii, I worked for the Counseling Department as a tutor for a variety of subjects from foreign languages (such as Chinese and Spanish) to general education (such as psychology, biology, history, art, math, etc.). I also worked as an Academic Advisor’s Assistant, where I could help my fellow students in a career choice, as well as practice my office skills.

I have always enjoyed teaching and helping others to learn. I don't believe in "I can't do it" or "I can't learn." I believe that anyone can learn anything as long as he or she is willing to learn and put an effort to do so. What is different is that some people have more ability than other to learn certain tasks, but eventually, everyone can learn. It is all a matter of adapting oneself to the student's need and ability to learn.

I find a great interest in the learning process and personal growth of students and have great interest and compassion for their struggle to learn and excel themselves. I was once a student who needed some guidance, and through the help of good teachers, I was able to find a direction to my life. Thus I can feel for those students who are struggling and am always willing to offer them support and help, since once I was in the same position.

My goal is to make the students learn what they set up their mind on to learn in the first place and help them improve their condition. It is very rewarding to see that you have made a difference in their lives.
