Hi! My name is Irene and I am an English teacher and translator EN>ES/ES>EN.
I have always felt a deep love for languages and communication. This made me realise from a very young age that I wanted to pursue a career in this area, so when the time came, I moved to Salamanca to get a degree in English Studies. Besides, I was lucky enough to be accepted in the Erasmus+ programme, where I got to study my third year at the University of Edinburgh.
Although I started helping others learn English when I was 16 years old, I have officially been working as a teacher since 2016. I have had the opportunity to work in language schools, in after-school activities for children and as a private tutor. In this latter field, my experience goes from teaching English for adults and children, to other subjects like Science, Geography and Spanish for kids in bilingual schools, ages 6-11. I have also been able to translate for well-known streaming platforms, transcribe during important technology conventions, and proof-read documents.
My classes always focus on the students‘ needs so that they can achieve their goals easily from home. I am able to teach different levels, and I can also prepare people for official English exams. I have worked with primary, secondary, high school, college and university students, and also adults who wanted to start learning step by step. I usually pay attention to the main areas (speaking, listening, reading and writing) so that the student can understand the language in an organic way, can communicate confidently and enjoy English. If students just want to improve specific areas, they just have to let me know and I will organise the lesson accordingly, in order to teach them in the most entertaining and didactic way possible.
