I’m Xiaoxian from Yunnan, China, and I’m 36 years old. Having graduated from Yunnan Normal University with a major in Chinese Language and Literature, I’ve developed a systematic and professional understanding of the phonetic rhythms, grammatical logic, and etymology of the Chinese language, as well as the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture. Additionally, I hold a nationally certified Mandarin Proficiency Test Certificate at the Second Grade, First Level, enabling me to provide you with accurate and clear guidance on Chinese pronunciation.
As the mother of an 8-year-old child, this role has given me a more genuine insight into "teaching" and "learning" — I know how to guide learning with sufficient patience and engaging methods, and I can better understand the confusion and obstacles adults may encounter when approaching a new language, allowing me to offer targeted support.
Yunnan is a treasure trove of China’s ethnic cultures. Of the 56 ethnic groups across the country, 26 reside here. Outside of class, we can chat like friends: we might talk about the snow-capped peaks of Cangshan Mountain, the moon reflected on Erhai Lake, or "virtually" savor the mellow sweetness of Pu’er tea; we can also admire the grace of peacocks spreading their tails together, or count the vibrant patterns on the costumes of various ethnic groups, experiencing the unique charm of this land.
In terms of personality, I am cheerful, patient, and curious. I have always believed that learning should not be a tedious task, but rather a joyful exploration. Therefore, my classes are always full of energy and interaction. I love exploring local cuisines everywhere, traveling to measure the world with my feet, and also enjoy the freedom of feeling the wind while skateboarding — these hobbies not only enrich my life but also allow me to easily connect with students of different ages and backgrounds, keeping the classroom atmosphere relaxed and pleasant throughout.
I am deeply passionate about education, and my greatest sense of accomplishment comes from witnessing students start from scratch, eventually being able to express themselves confidently in Chinese, and truly understanding and falling in love with the splendid Chinese culture through the window of language.
