I am a part time Chinese teacher who have 4 years of experience in teaching Chinese (mandarin) to English speakers. I am certified with 2A in the mandarin proficient test. If you are an absolute beginner, I will mainly use the HSK textbooks with additional handouts. Usually it takes 40 lesson to finish HSK1 and HSK2. Homework will be assigned for each lesson. Teaching materials may be changed after HSK3 according to your goals and levels. For advanced students, the lesson is tailored made with customised handouts. I can teach practical oral or business mandarin for specific industries. I have working experience as a Chinese copywriter, and worked as a strategy planner in marketing industry for 3 years. In case you are advanced enough to learn classical Chinese, I can help you with that as well. I also teach Cantonese to foreigners who want to learn basic conversations in a short period of time. Because I went through the process of learning Cantonese as a non native speaker, I know where the difficulties are and how to get over of them. In addition, my linguistic background and Chinese teaching experience helps me to think and teach in a logical way.
