Hey there, curious people! My name is Cristina Jin. I began my journey as a Chinese teacher when a mom came up to me asking for help, because her daughter had been studying in the Confucian Institute for 5 years, but whenever she went into a Chinese restaurant she felt so overwhelmed and intimidated by her Chinese competences that she never had the chance to use them. Therefore, I have specialized in Chinese speaking and listening. I am not here to be your teacher, but a friend with whom you meet up, to loosen up and chat. 1. We will begin with the basic of Chinese pronouciation, which we will polish with time. 2. You will aquire a vast amount of vocabulary related to your interests and the Chinese culture with which to play around, so that you can begin to bulid your first phrases (S+V+O). 3. We will emphasis on the spoken language and the listening so that other natives can understand you in less than 6 months. In terms of the learning material, I am a firm believer that textbooks will never teach you how to speak like a native. Therefore, I have worked for over a year to prepare my own content and tools with which one of my students has achieved to maintain conversations on advanced topics in less than 6 months.
