Hi, I’m Amitava! I specialize in building intuition and confidence in physics.

“Physics becomes easy… when imagination comes first… and equations come second.” Let me show you what I mean. Hi, I’m Amitava. I have a Master’s degree in Physics and over five years of experience teaching AP Physics 1, 2, and C. Most students struggle in physics because equations are used before the physical picture is clear. When you work with me, we start by imagining what’s really happening and choosing the right point of view. Once that’s clear, the equations make sense naturally. I pay close attention to how you’re thinking, and I’m patient about finding exactly where confusion begins. For example, imagine calulating separation between two stones thrown at the same time from the same point — one straight up, one at an angle. In the ground frame, the math gets messy as one follows a curved path. But in a freely falling reference frame, gravity disappears and both stones move in straight lines. With the right perspective, the problem becomes simple geometry. That’s how I teach — focusing on clarity, intuition, and meaningful equations.
