Hi! I'm Alejandro, a singer, composer, music producer, and teacher with 12 years of experience creating music. I work across progressive and experimental electronic music, pop, dance, hip-hop, trap, reggaeton, and other genres. I have experience singing as a solo artist, with groups, and in live performances.
In Ableton Live, I teach you to develop ideas into complete and satisfying pieces you enjoy and want to publish and share. We work on composition and song structure, vocal and instrumental recording, proper vocal recording techniques, mixing, mastering, sound design, and synthesis.
My approach combines analysis and synthesis. We start with the music you want to create and your references. We review your projects and production decisions, and analyse the composition and sonic properties of references, sounds, Ableton devices, and production approaches. We break elements down to understand how they work and apply what we learn to your own music, aiming for comparable compositional and sonic characteristics. This helps you identify problems, find solutions, and develop your musical judgment.
In singing, I teach vocal technique by explaining how the voice is produced and how the vocal apparatus works. We identify your range, practise warm-ups, and work on suitable songs to improve vocal control. We also address unnecessary tension and pain, without unrealistic expectations about what your voice should be able to do.
I learned on my own through tutorials, books, and other resources. Later, I expanded my knowledge through courses, workshops, and learning from experienced musicians, while also consulting reliable information. I want to help you distinguish useful information from common misconceptions. You don't need expensive equipment to create music or years of practice to begin singing comfortably and without pain. Outside music, I enjoy reading about philosophy, science, and fiction.
