Hello! I'm Alana. My passion for the Chinese language began in childhood, so I chose to minor in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language during college. This program gave me a systematic understanding of Chinese linguistics and second language teaching methods, and further strengthened my original aspiration to share the Chinese language with more people. I have studied abroad in Colombia and Spain. Years of living overseas have allowed me to communicate fluently in Spanish. I am familiar with the ways of thinking and cultural habits of Spanish-speaking countries, and I understand the difficulties and challenges that language learners often face in real-life communication. During my time abroad, I used my spare time to teach Chinese. My students have included both children and adults, complete beginners as well as those with some prior knowledge of the language. I design tailored teaching content and classroom activities based on each student’s age, interests, and learning goals. Whether it’s Pinyin, Chinese characters, spoken expression, grammar, or cultural background, I can explain everything patiently and clearly. I am currently based in China, I hope to continue making the most of my language strengths and teaching experience to bring Chinese to more friends who love the language and the culture.
