Greetings! My name is Laurendinah. I come from Lesotho, the beautiful mountain kingdom of Africa. I have over 10 years of teaching experience and hold a Diploma in Adult Education, along with a 120 hour TEFL Certification. In addition, I spent 6 years delivering Voter education programs, where I led workshops for various groups, such as community leaders, teenagers, police officers, national security services. I also trained election staff, candidates, political agents and facilitated public gatherings. These experiences strengthened my communication leadership, and facilitation skills. Recently I have supported learners through WhatsApp locally and continue to assist after school students with their homework. I taught herdboys numeracy and literacy skills over the weekend with great teaching enthusiasm. I guide village health workers and support groups using flash cards to help them communicate clearly with patients despite limited literacy skills.
My teaching approach is based on a communicative methodology, focusing on real life conversations and practical application. I believe learning should be engaging, interactive and enjoyable. I love seeing Learner's faces light up when they understand something new and I take pride in helping them to grow from being curious to becoming confident speakers. I create a positive, supportive and friendly learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy visiting places of interest, reading magazines and attending cultural events in. These hobbies help me to stay energetic and bring fresh perspectives into my lessons.
