My name is Efi, and I am a native Greek tutor.
My courses are very beginner-friendly, and I also focus a lot on having fun while learning! The most common plan I use is a 3 hours a week plan that is consisting of 2 lessons of 1.30 hours each. If you choose this it is possible for you to reach B1 level in Greek in 6 months! Another plan I use is the intensive courses. These consist of 10-20 hours per week! These are suggested if you have more time to give to your Greek learning and by choosing these you could even reach B1 level in one month!

Flessibilità, partecipazione, serietà nella leggerezza; questi sono gli obiettivi a cui aspiro. Insegnare (e imparare) è un percorso comune, un’associazione. Credo nella didattica, in quel legame che dovrebbe crearsi tra chi aiuta e chi viene accompagnato, e che non porta con sé solo il risultato del voto finale.
Si lavora insieme, con gli occhi verso successi condivisi. E quei successi spesso esulano dal solo campo Scuola, per entrare in quello più ampio della Formazione.
Sono più simile ad una studentessa che ad una professoressa; nessuno mi dà del lei, dimostro meno anni di quelli che già (ahimè o per fortuna) porto sulle spalle. L’aspirazione all’insegnamento alle volte ha assunto per me i contorni di una vocazione. Credo di poter davvero dare qualcosa di più ai ragazzi, rispetto a quello che tipicamente si ottiene a scuola.

Hello! I'm Christina. I come from Cyprus and have studied at the National and Kapodistrias University of Athens (Philosophy, Pedagogy, Psychology) and at the Higher Drama School of the National Theatre. I have been teaching Greek and Drama since 2010 in both Public and Private Schools. My teaching method is personalized and adapted according to the needs of each student and aims to cultivate the student's ability to communicate in the Greek language, to understand the spoken and written language and to be able to express themself verbally through Greek language.

Ho una laurea triennale in Scienze Politiche e Relazioni Internazionali dell'università La Sapienza, conseguita con il massimo dei voti e precedentemente mi sono diplomata al liceo classico con la votazione di 94/100.
In questi anni ho accumulato esperienza nel fornire lezioni private, dapprima all'interno della scuola attraverso il progetto "Peer tutoring" e, poi, autonomamente. Nel corso del tempo ho avuto l’opportunità di seguire ragazzi e ragazze delle scuole medie e delle superiori attraverso lezioni sia in presenza sia online, raggiungendo sempre, con grande gioia, ottimi risultati.
Attualmente lavoro in una scuola in cui seguo, ricoprendo un ruolo di supporto, un primo anno della materna e contemporaneamente, all’interno della stessa scuola, mi occupo delle ore di appoggio allo studio per gli studenti delle elementari.
Il mio metodo di insegnamento prevede innanzitutto l’ascolto degli studenti e delle studentesse per indagare le loro reali necessità. Dopo di che cerco di capire, confrontandomi con i ragazzi e le ragazze, come poter organizzare al meglio il lavoro. Il mio obiettivo primario è, infatti, quello di adattare ogni ora di lavoro alle esigenze e alle caratteristiche proprie di ogni persona che seguo. Quindi se necessario si può, ad esempio, fare ricorso a mappe, schemi, riassunti, supporti digitali e simili. Nel corso del tempo dedico dei momenti al confronto con gli studenti e le studentesse al fine di valutare come stiamo procedendo, se le modalità di studio funzionano e in generale per mettere in risalto aspetti che si possono cambiare o mantenere.
Un altro elemento che mi sta particolarmente, a cuore, oltre al confronto, è quello dell’apprendimento sostanziale. Con ciò voglio dire che per me è molto importante che si impari capendo davvero ciò che si studia, evitando del tutto modalità di studio passive o meccaniche.

I am an English tutor with 10 years of experience in private lessons for adults and children from all over the world. I’m originally from Greece but have been living in the UK over the last 13 years. I obtain a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a master's degree in Creative Writing, both from universities in Britain. I provide one to one lessons in either English or Greek or both!
I focus primarily on helping students feel more comfortable with Speaking, along with all other aspects of language learning. I teach using the target language as the main language of communication in order to help students start practicing the language without having to overthink things through and improve their confidence on the new language. I am always very optimistic and positive as a person, since positive thinking can helps us not only in the greater “successful” learning of a foreign language but also to achieve any goals we set in life in general.
Additionally, as a Psychologist and specifically through Positive Psychology, I help students with various methods to unleash their potential, as well as to overcome fears and setbacks in order to master not only the target language but to also gain the self-confidence needed, so that they can use English/Greek comfortably at any given time.
Lastly, I tailor my teaching style and general support to students specifically around their individual needs, so that they can achieve their goals successfully. I use a variety of methods and games that help in successful memorisation as well as the overall understanding of vocabulary and grammar rules - the above is also possible through flashcards, videos, storytelling and creative writing where I also obtained my master's degree.
Having many years of experience as a performance coach, psychologist and project manager, I also offer various coaching sessions. In addition, I provide full support with interviews in the UK and abroad, CV completion and mock interviews with many interview tips to help you be successful in your future job role!
