With 8 years of tutoring experience, I have successfully taught both children and adults. My qualifications include a 120-hour TEFL/TESOL certification and a higher Certificate in accounting sciences. Currently, I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in commerce at the University of South Africa. My journey as a tutor began at the young age of 15, and I owe my passion for teaching to my mother, who is also an educator. Growing up with her provided me with invaluable insights into effective teaching methods and how to engage with students. I have primarily focused on tutoring children between the ages of 7 and 12, who spoke Gujrati, Hindi, and Urdu as their native languages. Many of these children came from households where English was not spoken, and my role was to bridge that language gap. My approach to tutoring involves starting with the fundamentals, such as phonics and sight words, and then progressing to constructing simple sentences. At the end of each week, I would assess their progress with a comprehensive test, helping me identify areas that needed more attention. I firmly believe that being overly strict and resorting to shouting hinders a student's learning experience, leading to demotivation and disinterest. Instead, I strive to create a supportive and approachable environment for my students. I encourage them to seek help whenever needed without fear or hesitation. Building a strong teacher-student relationship is vital for effective learning and growth.
