My name is Ting Jiang, I graduated from Nanjing Normal University in the major of English with Bachelor degree and Zhongguo Renmin University in the major of Human Resources Management with Postgraduate degree. Actually I have more than twenty years professional working experiences after graduation. I’m a young Chinese teacher just graduated from Beijing International Studies University, majoring in Teaching Chinese as Second Language. I have a Mandarin certificate and a teaching qualification. I also have experience teaching at an international school in Thailand. Most of my students are native English or Thai speakers. Some are mixed-heritage—their parent, grandparent, or relative is Chinese. So I’ve taught many kinds of learners. Now I teach online. I offer:
YCT tutoring,
HSK training and word usage,
and Chinese language and culture, including stories and modern slang.
For YCT, I mainly teach Level 1. Kids at this age have learned pinyin but are still new to characters. They can connect ancient script to modern words. I’ll help them read and write better.
For HSK, I explain tricky words like “还是” vs “或者”, “一点儿” vs “有点儿”, and “快乐” vs “高兴”. I use real-life examples to make it clear.
Finally, culture—my favorite part. We can talk about ancient arts or modern subculture terms. If you’re an artist or businessperson interested in Chinese comics or fan events, I can help. I’ll start with typing Chinese—we call it “电写”. Then, I’ll teach you online slang so you can chat freely with Chinese netizens. I’ll also show you polite ways to remind someone to finish artwork or confirm payment.

The Mandarin Chinese is beautiful, but also difficult and complicated for non-native speakers. I know as a Chinese learner, you have a lot of challenges. My Chinese courses consist of a series of real-life topics, including practical words, expressions, grammar points and knowledge, which you can use in real life immediately after learning the courses. For example, the general topics include making phone calls, ordering Chinese food, traveling in China, finding accommodations, going to the hospitals, etc. The business related topics include finding a job in China, writing the emails, meeting customers or business partners, negotiating contracts, registering a company in China, etc. In addition, I also offer the HSK test preparation lessons for level 1-6.
The major part of the course is speaking practice, with writing and pronunciation involved as well. The course is engaging and interactive and you will be encouraged to participate, practise and use the language.
My international experiences allow me to have the comprehensive understanding of the differences between the Chinese and western cultures, the different ways that people do things and the differences with mindsets. I incorporated all of these factors and the background introduction into the Chinese language lessons, for you to better understand the language and know the real life in China.
