About me

Hello, my name is Raymond, and I am originally from The United States. With over 20 years of experience as an English language teacher and trainer, I have worked in both academic and corporate settings. I have had the pleasure of assisting university students in achieving their language goals, whether they be conversational or working towards an official exam, and supporting PhD candidates in their academic research and refinement. I am naturally curious, and a bit chatty perhaps, and I'm sure that we can always find common ground, and a little humour, where we can take your English to the next level. Learning English should be intriguing, stimulating and fun. When I am not teaching and working, I enjoy rollerblading on the boardwalks of California and Spain. Mens sana in corpore sano. I look forward to working with you. I have over 20 years of teaching experience in a wide variety of fields with a diverse group of students. My method is always direct. I firmly believe in using the target language as a vehicle to learn. I have taught the Cambridge suite of exams, as well as the TEFL and IELTS, among others. Although not exactly a language snob, I am a stickler for good grammar and expression. I've got an eye for detail and have helped many students and professionals alike with refinement in all areas, whether it be purely academic, business oriented or the sciences.
