Welcome! My name is Jessica and I come from sunny South Africa! I am a qualified Interior Architect and I am currently doing my master's in Psychology. I also have my TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Along with this, I love learning, and I think it is important to have good general knowledge about many different topics! I would say that I am a friendly person that always gives 100%! Lastly, I love learning from my students about your culture and traditions and hearing your thoughts on popular topics!
I have been teaching now for about 5 years! I spent 2 and a half years in South Korea teaching young children and adults! And I have now been teaching English online for 2 years now! I have taught small classes, with my focus now being one on one classes! I really enjoy the personal connection that I form with my students when I have only one student in the class! For me, it is important to identify the goals that you want to achieve from our classes together, and then set mini-milestones so that we know if we are making progress. I have taught business English to businessmen and women who have to do presentations in English, have meetings with Foreign colleagues, suppliers, or clients, and allow students to understand their job in English. Secondly, I have taught students who are preparing for their IELTS or TOEFL tests, from speaking to writing. Thirdly, I have focused a lot on conversational English, and this could range from topics that are interesting to the student to international news or anything that the student wants to talk about.
I love Formula 1 and MotoGP, and pretty much grew up on the side of a race track (my dad is a professional photographer for racing). My grandparents and parents instilled a love of reading in me, and I will try to read anything from romance to detective to biographies, as long as it is interesting! Recently, I have been trying to start painting and drawing again, but it has been quite a difficult process as I feel like I have to learn everything again! I also love cooking, and I feel as though this is a great way to relax, and I love it when people enjoy my food!
