I am an experienced English teacher with 15 years in the field, following a 12-year career as a manager and lecturer in Finance and Marketing. Throughout my teaching career, I have had the privilege of working with leading corporations such as BP, Siemens, SAAB, Lukoil, and the Czech National Bank (ČSOB), as well as with several government ministries, including Azerbaijan’s National Oil Fund and Ministry of Communication. I have taught students of all ages, from children to adults, both online and in-person. My experience includes preparing students for TOEFL, FCE, and IELTS exams, as well as professionally assessing the English skills of BP’s prospective applicants. My classes are highly professional and tailored to the specific needs of each student. My teaching methodology is entirely student-centered, recognizing that everyone learns differently. While the Direct Method works well for some, others benefit more from Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). I adapt my approach to suit each student’s abilities and learning style, and I encourage active participation and speaking in every class. Because of this personalized approach, many of my students have continued learning with me for three years or more. Some have successfully passed the IELTS exam and emigrated abroad, others have gained admission to their chosen schools, and several have achieved professional promotions. Originally from the United States, I have spent the last 13 years teaching abroad in the Czech Republic, Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, China (online), and Georgia. I speak five languages, which I believe has greatly enhanced my effectiveness as a teacher. Having experienced both poor and excellent teaching myself, I understand firsthand what truly supports students’ success. This personal journey distinguishes me from other teachers—I have walked this path myself and know what works best.
