Welcome to my trumpet and brass lessons! I’m an experienced and passionate teacher with over 20 years of expertise, and I’m here to help you unlock your full musical potential. My lessons are tailored to fit your individual needs, whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player. I focus on building strong fundamentals, including technique, sound production, breathing, and articulation, all while fostering your creativity and musical expression. I teach at the Hamburg Academy for Music and Culture and the Vorarlberg Music School in Austria, and I’ve had the pleasure of teaching at many renowned music schools in Germany over the years. My experience at these institutions has shaped my approach to teaching, which is built on patience, clear communication, and making learning fun. Each lesson is designed to be engaging and personalized, with a mix of practical exercises, music theory, and performance pieces in a variety of styles. I focus on key techniques like slurs, scales, tonguing, and sight-reading, and we’ll also work on pieces ranging from classical to contemporary music, as well as songs you love! I believe in a friendly, approachable teaching style that encourages students to ask questions, explore their musical interests, and build confidence in their abilities. Together, we’ll work towards your musical goals in a supportive and motivating environment!.

Hi, I’m Mevin! I’m a piano and keyboard tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in Music, majoring in piano, from Christ University. I’m also a Trinity College of London certified pianist, and I’ve been teaching for the past 3 years. Over this time, I’ve had the joy of working with students of all age groups — from young beginners taking their very first steps in music to advanced learners looking to refine their skills. What makes my classes different is the way I structure them. I truly believe every student is unique, so I design my lessons to be student-oriented. That means I focus on your interests and goals while also giving you the important musical foundation that every pianist needs. Think of it as a balance between what you want to play and what you need to learn to become a well-rounded musician. Each class is divided into four parts to keep things engaging and productive. We start with technical aspects — exercises, scales, and finger techniques that strengthen your playing. Then we move into notation reading, where we explore Western classical pieces that improve sight-reading and help you understand music on the page. The third part is completely student-focused, so we can work on songs or styles you love, or any area you want to develop further. Finally, we end with ear training, which sharpens your ability to recognize melodies, chords, and rhythms by ear — a skill every musician should have. I teach in both English and Malayalam, so you can learn in the language you’re most comfortable with. My aim is always to create a fun, encouraging space where you can feel confident, curious, and inspired to practice. I don’t just want you to learn the piano — I want you to enjoy the process and fall in love with making music. Whether you’re a beginner dreaming of playing your first song or an advanced player looking to polish your performance, I’d love to guide you on your musical journey. With the right balance of structure, creativity, and encouragement, we’ll work together to help you grow as a pianist while having fun along the way.

Cuento con 38 años de experiencia en docencia. Tengo formación académica y también popular. Las clases se adaptan a la realidad individual de cada alumno. Se trabaja un tronco programático común y luego se diseñan y adaptan programas individuales según el interés del estudiante. Se puede tener un enfoque hacia lo profesional o trabajar sobre un vínculo con lo artístico musical sin la exigencia de un estudio profundamente académico. El material que se utiliza para trabajar es el que todos estudiamos de las escuelas más importantes y reconocidas, mas métodos de distintos guitarristas de todos los géneros y mucho material propio que he ido armando en todos estos años, como ser un Cuadernillo de Guitarra de Nivel Inicial, un libro de Utilización de las Escalas y otro libro sobre Armonía Funcional. También voy incorporando distintos materiales según la necesidad de cada alumno. Cada uno de estos puntos se adapta a los distintos estilos.

Tengo experiencia de 24 años en enseñanza de piano y violín. Trabajo con varios métodos modernos y clásicos( suzuki, longshamps, cofalik ect) Mis alumnos aprenden el solfeo ,lenguaje musical, leer tabs y chords rapidamente y sin estrés, atraves de los juegos musicales perfectamente adaptados a su edad, desarrollo y coordinacion. A poco tiempo son capaces reproducir las melodías que les gustan incluso apuntarlas en pentagrama. La coordinación y atención trabajamos con ejercicios de Rítmica, varios métodos entre ellos el conocido método Dalcroze. Las clases se imparten en castellano o inglés. Mis alumnos tienen entre 2,5 y 78 años. A veces admito grupos entre 2-3 alumnos, dependiendonde la edad . Dos veces al año organizamos pequeños conciertos, también encuentros entre mis alumnos, para que pueden disfrutar la música en grupo y confrontar el miedo escénico ( o contar anécdotas sobre las profe??) He tenido mucha suerte teniendo muy buenos profesores a lo largo de mi vida, me sirvieron de referencia, con algunos de ellos sigo colaborando y continuo formandome. Creo que la enseñanza es un trabajo complejo, responsable y requiere constante cooperación y buena comunicación entre los maestros y los padres. Es imprescindible que los padres están al tanto de los progresos, deberes , faltas y dificultades que encuentran los niños a lo largo de curso. Siempre intento estar en buena comunicación, explicando los deberes , los nuevos conceptos musicales, habilitados instrumentales. A veces parece que los padres están dando otro curso en paralelo, algunos de echo terminan recibiendo y tocando junto a sus niños!!! Las clases se cobran según tiempo 30 min

I believe the strongest relationships are those in which teachers make students feel comfortable through designing lessons around a student's learning style and providing a safe space for them to voice their concerns. Through my work experience as a private singing and piano teacher, my biggest accomplishments have been increasing self-confidence in introverted students. I have an enhanced DBS and safeguarding certificates for both adults and children. I teach: Beginners - Singing, Piano 30 - 45 minutes Intermediate - Singing, Piano 45 - 60 minutes For singing lessons, I will suggest to bring in a song/short section of a song to the first lesson! The reason for this is for me to get to know your voice so that I will be able to see where your voice is at. There is no pressure if you prefer not to as I would have plenty of songs for you to sing. As we start singing, we will begin with: 1. Body stretching and vocal warm ups 2. Short vocal songs (ex: call and response songs) 3. Main pieces that we focus on during the lessons You can also expect lesson plans to include: - Vocal health - Understanding the mind, body & voice connection - Physical stretch and release - Posture and alignment - Warmups and cooldowns - Vocal technique (breathing, registers, articulation, primal sounds etc.) - Improvisation - Performance coaching - Genre-specific techniques (classical, musical theatre, rap etc.) - Guidance for practice For piano lessons, the usual lesson plan will be: 1. Technical exercises 2. Main pieces that we focus on during the lessons You can also expect lesson plans to include: - Learning pieces that the student enjoys - Notation, sight- reading and theory - Combining theory and aural skills by listening to intervals, scales, chords, time signatures and keys I am aware of these exam boards for: ABRSM Grade 1 to 8 - Piano and Music theory duration depending on Grade level Trinity music Grade 1 to 8 - Singing duration depending on Grade level Performing experience: I have recently returned from working as a hotel singer and pianist across the island of Mallorca in various hotels such as Fergus Tobago hotel, Globales Cala Bona, Las Arenas Hotel, BG Pamplona, Jardin Del Sol, Hipocampo Palace, Morito Hotel and many more. I am also a freelance wedding and events singing pianist. As a past member at the Young Choral Academy (Malaysia), I have performed traditional Malaysian choir folk songs. With joining this music school, I represented my country in events such as our KLCC European tour and the World Choir Games 2014. While studying abroad at Wells Cathedral School, I have achieved a Grade 8 distinction in Singing under the Trinity Music Exam Board. I have also been involved in a BBC Broadcast with the Wells Cathedral School’s girls choir 'Choralia' and the London Contemporary Orchestra.
