Daniella
Hey! My name is Daniella, let me tell you a bit about my teaching journey. I never really planned on becoming a teacher, but once I started teaching, I honestly fell in love with it. There’s something really special about helping someone understand something new, especially when it’s a new language.
I taught English at a children’s home, and that experience shaped me a lot. The kids came from different backgrounds, so I often used isiXhosa and Sotho to support them while teaching English. Watching them slowly gain confidence going from being shy to actually speaking English proudly was one of the best feelings ever.
I also completed a 150-hour TEFL course, which helped me learn how to plan lessons, manage a classroom, and make learning fun instead of stressful. I enjoy keeping my lessons relaxed, interactive, and practical, because I believe people learn best when they feel comfortable and encouraged.
Teaching has taught me patience and empathy. Every learner is different, and I’ve learned to meet people where they are instead of rushing them. For me, teaching isn’t just about books or rules it’s about connection, confidence, and growth.
I’m still learning and growing as a teacher, but I truly enjoy what I do. Helping others learn and seeing their progress makes everything worth it, and that’s why I’m excited to keep teaching and improving every day.
