I teach computer science at any level and math and physics up to high school kids. Not everyone has the same method of learning, which varies by age, character and what they like to do. My primary goal, even before I start teaching, is to understand what the student's goals are and how to achieve them in the most efficient and "enjoyable" way possible. I have had experience in various areas and occasions in teaching and have realized that making a list of notions hoping to be heard is totally useless and counterproductive. Pupils must be made to feel passionate about the subject and must be stimulated continuously, finding the joint ratio of engagement and rest. Please note: nothing comes from heaven, it takes commitment and perseverance to get good results.

See the thing is whether you want to calculate your profit margins or count the number of persons you've dated, maths is everywhere and what makes your life easy is making basic maths a part of your personality. I know this because of my personal experience. When I was 3 years old my father took me shopping, we bought 2 bundles of wood. So I asked him why did we buy only 2 woods when mom asked for 10 pieces. So my father laughed and explained to me that each of the bundle contained 5 pieces. I still couldn't get it so he held my hand and said, suppose each of your finger is a wood and each of your hand is a bundle. Then I counted my fingers and they magically added up to be 10 and it fascinated me. That was my first multiplication lesson and the moment that got me interested in maths. Then I made maths a part of my personality as I grew up and ended up graduating in engineering from one of the top colleges of India. So remember guys, you are second to none because maths is fun.
