Hi! I’m Alabi Naheem, and I am thrilled to help you master mathematics. I am a final-year Electrical Engineering student and the founder of the Maths Icon Institute. My journey in engineering has given me a deep, practical understanding of how math works in the real world, and I bring that professional expertise into every lesson I teach.
Who I Am and My Approach
I believe that math shouldn't be about memorizing formulas or "tricks" just to pass a test. My goal is to help you understand the concepts behind the numbers. When you understand the "why," the "how" becomes easy! I am known for being patient and approachable. I know that math can feel intimidating, so I create a friendly environment where no question is a "bad" question.
What Makes My Classes Different?
Unlike many teachers who focus only on textbooks, I combine my engineering background with a passion for international standards. I specialize in preparing students for high-stakes exams like the SAT, IGCSE, GCSE, and A-Levels. I am also very familiar with specific U.S. state standards, such as the STAAR in Texas (including reaching that top "Masters" level) and the MCAP in Maryland.
Because I use a high-end digital setup with professional audio and clear visuals, my online classes feel like we are sitting in the same room. I use virtual tools to make sure our sessions are interactive and engaging.
How I Organize My Classes
My classes are structured but flexible:
1. Foundation Check: We start by reviewing the core concept to make sure there are no "gaps" in your knowledge.
2. Interactive Solving: We work through problems together. I don't just show you the answer; I guide you to find it yourself.
3. Real-World Application: I often show you how the math we are learning is used in engineering and technology.
