Hi, I'm Rita — a Mandarin teacher with 4 years of online teaching experience. I help complete beginners speak Chinese from their very first lesson, in clear, small steps.
My students come from the United States, Vietnam, Kazakhstan and France — total beginners, travelers, HSK candidates, and adults who simply fell in love with the language. I'm also a mom of a nine-year-old boy, so I'm patient with both kids and adults, and I know how to keep young learners engaged.
What we can work on together
- Complete beginners — pinyin, tones, and survival Chinese for daily life or travel
- Speaking & listening — real situations: food, work, hobbies, making friends
- HSK preparation — vocabulary, grammar, listening strategies, and mock tests with detailed feedback
- Kids — short, lively lessons with games and lots of repetition
How I teach
Every lesson is built around you. Before we start, I'll ask about your goals and interests, and the lessons grow from there. If you love cooking, we'll talk about food. If you're planning a trip, we'll rehearse the exact situations you'll face. No one-size-fits-all textbook.
I teach in English, so even at zero level nothing gets lost. As your Chinese grows, we switch to more and more Chinese — until one day you realize the whole lesson was in Chinese.
My students know me as a patient and lively teacher. Ask me the same question five times, and I'll happily explain it in five different ways. My classroom is relaxed: no pressure, no embarrassment — just lots of practice and a few laughs.
