I pride myself upon using effectively materials like, props to help understanding, videos to gain more information, fun activities to enable a lively and comfortable learning environment and delivery of my lesson. lastly I like to use the TPR method.

Hello, Everyone! My name is Eftychia (or Effie), which means “Happiness” in Greek and I offer happiness to the people who would love to learn Greek. My goal is to keep the Greek language alive and thriving for another five-thousand of years! I am a teacher in Greece with a Masters Degree in Education. I have lived in New York but am currently on a Greek island. In New York, I worked in Greek-bilingual schools while studying at Hunter College (CUNY). I used to work in the public school system in Greece but now I have the pleasure of being the Head of Studies at the Greek-American Non Profit Organization that promotes Greek culture and education. I am also currently working on my PhD in Digital Media and Communication at the Ionian University of Greece. Most of my students are Greek-American and bilingual. I have 13 years of teaching experience in New York and in Greece, teaching Greek as a first and as a second language. I can teach Greek (A1-C2 level) depending on my students needs. I can direct you on A2 and B1 language requirement for the permanent residency/naturalisation in Greece. I am highly experienced in preparing individuals for the GCSE, ellinomatheia and regents (certificates of proficiency in Greek language). Of course every student is different so I make sure to provide a customized program for everyone wanting to learn greek, specified to your needs, while moving at your pace. My methodology is based on Constructivism which is the notion that people actively construct their own knowledge, and that reality is determined by your experiences as a learner. The major concept is that my students use their previously learned knowledge as a foundation and build on it with new things that they learn. My subject expertise is: modern Greek and Greek history, not just the basic history that is written in handbooks, but from the “inside” history.

Hi, my name is Josh, and I have taught English to hundreds of students since 2018. I'm not your typical teacher, and I didn't come to teaching through the usual means. I developed a passion for creating light-bulb moments when working in the corporate world and teaching new employees how to use various company systems. I moved on from there to start my own tutoring business. I have also taught English to children, and I had most success with English First (EF) where I was a QA Senior Mentor for other teachers, as well as an Online English Teacher. I like to be energetic, enthusiastic and interactive, to help boost motivation, but sometimes a more relaxed approach is needed.
