About me

Hi everyone I'm Raul, my passion is teaching and music. I think I know how to deliver what I have learned in a unique and entertaining way. Don't hesitate to contact me. Biography: Raul Alejandro Celis Maturana grew up in Chile. He comes from a family of many musicians, and his first instrument was the drums, which he learned from his father. At the age of seven, barely able to see over the drum set, he started playing the drums in a professional band in his home town. He completed a degree as a music professor at the Universidad de Playa Ancha in Valparaiso, Chile, where he won a scholarship by maintaining the highest grades of all the students in his class every year. After studying classical recorder for 5 years, he decided to focus on the instrument he is most passionate about: the viola. He studied 5 years of classical viola at the Universidad de Chile while playing in the Chilean National Youth Orchestra. After teaching music for a year in Chilean public schools, he then moved to Barcelona to complete a masters degree in music therapy at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya. Raul has 7 years of experience teaching private and group music classes (to students of all ages) in music theory and many different instruments. He also has extensive experience working with disabled individuals, people with learning and behavioral difficulties, and elderly individuals, both teaching music classes and carrying out music therapy sessions. He also has 10 years of experience playing music professionally for live audiences or as a session musician for recordings.
