About me

Hello, my name is Pedro Castillo García. I have a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) from Northwestern University (Chicago, IL) and am a Fulbright scholar. Eleven years of experience teaching English and literature. I am fully bilingual because, in addition to my master's degree, I lived half my life in the United States. There, I worked as a university and school teacher, published academic translations, wrote plays, and designed curricula in English. I have been an online and in-person ESL teacher with various platforms, including Open English and Chicago Charter Schools Systems. For six years, I worked as an artistic coordinator at the CIREC Foundation (Centro Integral de Rehabilitación de Colombia), developing inclusive bilingual education programs, artistic workshops, scholarships, and academic partnerships. Needless to say, I am fully bilingual, C2 level. As a playwright and musician, I often incorporate dynamic and fun activities into my classes. Who said that effective adult learning has to be boring? :)
