About me

Hi! I’m Nikol, a language teacher, writer and speaker from Barcelona, and I believe that learning a language should be much more than memorising grammar and vocabulary. I studied English Philology at the University of Barcelona and, because I wanted to understand not only the language but also how people learn, I went on to complete a Master’s in Teacher Training and a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to teach in very different environments, from academies and secondary schools to summer camps and the British Council. I’ve also given talks to other teachers at Oxford House about bringing emotional education into the classroom. Alongside teaching, I’m a writer and the author of My Feelings and Me. All these experiences have shaped the way I teach. I believe languages are, above all, a way of connecting with people, expressing our ideas and opening doors to new opportunities. That’s why I don’t want my students to simply “know” a language. I want them to feel able to use it. For this reason, I adapt my classes to each person, combining different methodologies depending on your goals, personality and learning style. We might work through conversation, real-life situations, creative activities or more structured exercises. What matters is that the language becomes something you can actually use. So, if you’re looking for classes where you can improve your communication skills, gain confidence and enjoy the process along the way, I’d love to meet you!
