About me

Hello ! My name is Alexandra. I live in Uitenhage, which is a friendly town in South Africa. I love singing and writing music. I am currently in final year of university and am about to complete my Bachelor of Science degree. I enjoy doing Biotechnology research in my free time. I am a native English and Afrikaans speaker and hope to learn and fluently speak at least two more languages in the next 5 years. I have 4 years of offline tutoring experience and have spent over 1000 hours tutoring online, so this is not my first time in a teaching position. I have had students from Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, France, South Korea, Italy, America, Portugal, and Germany. I have completed a 120 hour TEFL Certificate and am therefore qualified to teach English as a foreign language. Learning a new language can be very challenging, but my duty is to make this process as enjoyable as possible for you. As your teacher, I will customize my lessons to your learning goals. I am an enthusiastic and positive teacher and will create a positive space for you to learn, make mistakes and grow as an English speaker. I love teaching because I can help others improve their skills. I have spent the past two years as an English peer tutor for students of all ages and because of this experience, I am able to adapt to your learning style and language level.
