Hello, this is Yolanda :). I live in Sydney, Australia. As a native Chinese speaker, I have professional knowledge and over 4 years of experience as a Chinese language teacher specializing in teaching Chinese to both children and adults. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature with distinction from Tianjin Normal University in China. I am also certified with the Teacher Qualification Certificate for a Senior High School Chinese Language Teacher and the Putonghua Proficiency Test certificate (Level 1) . I hold a Master's degree in Professional Accounting from the University of Sydney. My IELTS score is 7.5 overall, and with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, I believe that even if you are a beginner in Chinese language learning, there will be no obstacles to our communication. I have a passion for reading Chinese Classics, which has helped me develop expert skills in understanding Traditional Chinese characters and classical Chinese texts. Additionally, I am skilled in writing Chinese articles, and one of my articles was published in a Chinese magazine called After Working Hours in 2012. In my leisure time, I enjoy playing the piano and have obtained the AMEB Eighth Grade in Piano Comprehensive. With teaching experience at a middle school in China and as a private Chinese tutor, I have abundant knowledge working with both younger and adult learners from around the world, including Korea, Australia, and the United States. As a language teacher, I believe the most important aspect is designing teaching and learning activities that align with each student's individual needs and goals. Therefore, during our first class, I’d like to understand your objectives, assess your level, and create a course framework based on your specific requirements. For beginners, we will start with the basics, focusing on the initials and finals of Chinese Pinyin, which form the foundation of mastering the language. For students with some prior knowledge of Chinese, we will dedicate more time to learning advanced Chinese characters, understanding more complex sentence structures, improving pronunciation, and developing reading and writing skills to enhance your overall language ability.
